About this Event:

The next residential electronics collection event will be on Saturday, May 18, 2019; you will be able to start registering for that event on Monday, April 8, 2019.  (The fall collection event will be on Saturday, October 12, 2019; you will be able to start registering for that event on Monday, September 9, 2019.)

REGISTRATION & EVENT DETAILS for the Oct 13, 2018 event:
Once you register for the Oct 13th event, you will receive a confirmation email and/or text. If you do not receive a confirmation email and/or text, then you might not have registered completely. Please make sure that you submitted all of the required information and checked the required boxes, in order to secure your spot.
Once you are registered completely, you will receive a postcard in the mail approx. two weeks before the event  (the postcard will serve as your 'ticket' into the event).  If you do not receive your postcard by Oct 10th, you can just show your confirmation email/text at the event when you arrive -OR- if you do not have a postcard or a confirmation email/text, please call 217.403.4780 before the day of the event.

At the collection events, there is a 2 TV limit per person/postcard (ALL TYPES, MODELS, AND SIZES OF TV's, INCLUDING CRT TUBE TV's, ARE ACCEPTED!& 10-item total limit per postcard. (A computer monitor is NOT considered a TV.) Small items (cords, chargers, mice, etc.) can be bundled or put into a small box & counted as only 1 item. These events take place at Parkland College, 2400 W. Bradley Ave, Champaign; you must use the DUNCAN ROAD ENTRANCE & then follow the signs. Car pooling is allowed & encouraged (you can use multiple postcards for one vehicle).  ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED removing items from your vehicle; please do not have anything surrounding your electronics that you do not want taken out of your vehicle!  The events go ahead rain or shine, that includes thunder & lightning.  Keep in mind that rain will slow things down, but the wait is still minimal.  The weather would have to get very severe before we cancel.

Communities NOT participating: TDB (So if you live in one of these communities, please do not register for this event, unless you live in 'unincorporated Champaign County'.)

There are limited options to recycle TV's year-round:
Best Buy, 2117 N. Prospect Ave., Champaign (new as of Oct '17) will accept & recycle most TV's for a $25 fee. 217-352-8883
Habitat for Humanity, 119 E. University Ave., Champaign still accepts ONLY flat PANEL tv's working & non-working, free of charge. 217-359-0507
Salt & Light, 1819 S. Philo Rd., Urbana accepts ONLY flat screen TV's (must be in good working condition) 217-355-5654
